Greetings.

Greetings. And welcome to another feeble attempt at me trying to blog. I believe this is the third or fourth in a series of blogs in which I have grand ideas, and then post once or twice. I believe blog one had no purpose other than venting. Blogs two and three were knitting and running related, respectively. (I think the running blog had maybe two posts before I got tired of running?) We will see how this one goes. Perhaps the place to begin is by explaining the name. Most of the time I have wonderful ideas. I'm full of them. I really love the act of brainstorming and dreaming. The sky is the limit for me, and I spend hours dreaming of that day "when I have time..." or "when I have the money..." The fact is, there are many projects that I can do now. I don't need to win the lottery, I just need to be held accountable. That's what this blog is. My cyber-accountability. Perhaps if I know people (maybe?) are aware of what I'm up to, I will be shamed into actually completing the items on my "to do" list. So here are my goals for 2013, in no particular order: 1) Finish a sweater. I've knit many things, but can't seem to master the art of the sweater. For example, I've got a nearly finished garter yoke cardi - all it needs is buttons. Its been in this state since 2010. I just can't seem to finish it. I also have a nearly finished draped cardigan. I just need to sew it together. Again... no motivation. I don't know what's wrong with me there. I think I just get lazy? Or worried its not going to fit, so why finish it and find out? I don't know. I will have both of these finished before Feb. 1 of this year, and I will also start and finish a sweater before it gets too warm to wear it. I promise. Maybe. 2) Run the half marathon on April 27, 2013. This one is a toughie. I really am training to run the half. (And I use the term "run" loosely - it will be more of a jog. As my friend Mat says, he prefers "yog" - soft J.)I have never run farther than 5 miles before, so over doubling that is a bit daunting for me. Hopefully this blog will keep me honest as far as training goes. 3) Tile the stairs. Recently on pinterest I saw a pin where the risers of the stairs were tiled with mexican-style tiles. I really loved it. I am going to talk to Jim about it, but it totally seems like something I can do. (We re-tiled two of the bathrooms in our old house.) It seems like a great way of keeping the risers from getting all scuffed and dirty. I think it will also help us define the style of our house. 4) Tile the back splash in the kitchen. See item 3 on my list. Same story, different room in the house. 5) Finish a wood-working project. Jim and I have been into building things lately. He built the kids really amazing loft beds, but has since taken T's down to stain it. That was.... 3 months ago? He's still not done. There just doesn't seem to be enough daylight. Or motivation. Or... I don't know. It just seems that we're not good at finishing things. We also have a kitchen bench that is not even close to being done. Its sad, really. Our house could be so cute if we didn't procrastinate so much. So there it is. My list of shame. Things that I really, really would like to accomplish, but probably won't. :D
